The Process

So how does this all work you ask?

It all starts with you reaching out with a description or maybe some photos of the style and general concept of the custom piece you're looking to have commissioned.

If it's a good fit for our shop we'll need to establish a budget so that we can choose materials and design concepts appropriately and avoid surprises in the coming steps.

For larger projects requiring design work I'll create a design agreement and collect an initial design fee. This is generally $250-500 depending on the complexity of the project.

Once the final design is agreed upon, we'll collect a deposit, typically 50% of the agreed commission, which will go towards materials and the initial work to get the project started. The remainder and any shipping will be due at completion. Larger projects may have several milestone payments.

The overall design and build process can take just a few weeks for smaller projects. Larger projects can take months to source the right pieces of wood and craft a piece that will allow your vision to become reality.

Finally, the completed piece will be presented to you!
